TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 01:
  • Reception at the airport or bus station and transfer to the Monte Amazónico Lodge office for relevant tour information.
  • Transfer to the port where we will take the boat for one hour to our Lodge. Welcome meeting with a refreshing fruit juice from our region. Installation in our respective rooms.
  • After a short rest you will have a two-hour introductory walk in the dense tropical forest, guided by an expert local guide who will take you through our trails to see a variety of trees that can be more than five hundred years old, at the same time. time you will be able to observe some species of wild animals such as toucans, orioles, parrots, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc. You will have the opportunity to experience the magic of our Amazon Rainforest within the Tambopata National Reserve (278,000 thousand hectares protected by Peruvian laws).
  • After lunch we will visit the “Monkey Island”, located in front of our lodge on the other side of the Madre de Dios River, where different species of monkeys live such as the brown capuchin, the squirrel monkey, the saddle marmoset and the white cappuccino, all of them on the island, after the activity we will return to the lodge.
  • At night we go out in search of caimans that are generally found on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, on this occasion it will be necessary to carry a flashlight. With luck we will be able to see the capybara, the largest rodent in the world that can weigh 60 kilos, an impressive family of the Peruvian guinea pig; Return to the lodge, dinner and overnight at the lodge.
  • After early breakfast we will take a short boat ride to the entrance of Lake Sandoval, after registering at the checkpoint we will walk 3 kilometers (2 miles approx.) to Lake Sandoval (piranha habitat) one of the largest in the area. Tambopata National Reserve.
  • After the pleasant walk the guide will take us to a rowboat where we will have our navigation on the lake to appreciate many different species of birds and monkeys (Hoatzin cormorant jacanas, puma heron, eagles, howler monkey, squirrel monkey, black capuchin, tamarins and lazy). 
  • Perhaps we will meet the family of giant river otters (almost two meters long) that are in danger of extinction and the largest recorded alligator of more than 4 meters long, return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch. 
  • At night we will take a night walk where we can appreciate the diversity of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal animals. – Dinner and rest.
  • 5:30 A.M in the jungle. The Canopy Walk-Way will allow us to see the rainforest from a different perspective, at about 30 meters high, the bridges will allow us to appreciate nature from a great height, we will have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River. From the platforms you can observe different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles and much more, this will be a wonderful experience. 
  • After breakfast we prepare for an adrenaline-filled activity above the trees more than 30 meters high. We will do the zip line, for this activity we will have an instructor guide, who will give a talk on how to use the safety harness during the zip line activity, feeling the adrenaline of sliding between the trees, the experience will remain with you forever, there are two cables that support more than 3 tons, return to the Lodge.- Lunch and rest.
  • In the afternoon the challenge is to cross the Madre de Dios River by kayak, along the way we will be able to appreciate the fascinating sunset. Then we can do artisanal fishing in the Madre de Dios River, with a little patience we can observe some species of fish such as catfish.
