DETAILED ITINERARY – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN & RED VALLEY TOUR
Early Morning Pick-Up
Your adventure to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) and Red Valley begins early. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:30 and 5:00 AM. Alternatively, you may meet us directly at our office at 5:10 AM.
Departure from Cusco
Once the group is ready, we’ll depart Cusco around 5:15 AM for a scenic drive through the Andes. This two-hour journey offers breathtaking landscapes on the way to the village of Cusipata, where our trek preparation begins.
Breakfast in Cusipata
Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious breakfast at a local restaurant. This stop is perfect for relaxing, acclimatizing to the altitude, and getting energized before continuing the route to Rainbow Mountain Peru.
Drive to the Trailhead
After breakfast, we’ll drive for approximately one more hour to reach the official trailhead. Please note: there is a local entrance fee of 30 soles (cash only) to access Rainbow Mountain.
Hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)
The hike starts at 4,700 meters above sea level and gradually climbs to the summit at 5,100 meters. The trek lasts about 1 hour (depending on fitness level) and rewards you with unforgettable panoramic views of the world-famous Rainbow Mountain Peru.

After lunch, we begin the two-hour drive back to Cusco. On the way, we can drop you off at the airport or bus terminal around 4:00 PM if needed. Otherwise, the tour ends at Plaza Regocijo, in Cusco’s historic center, between 4:30 and 5:00 PM.
