Start with a light t-shirt, add a warm sweater or fleece for cooler hours, and bring a waterproof jacket in case of rain. Comfortable walking shoes or light hiking shoes are essential for exploring the archaeological sites.

Yes, absolutely. The Sacred Valley is at high altitude, so the sun can be very strong. Pack sunscreen (SPF 50+), sunglasses, and a hat or cap to protect yourself from UV rays.

❓ Should I bring water and snacks?

Yes. Staying hydrated is very important. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person and some light snacks (granola bars, fruits, or nuts) to keep your energy levels up between stops.

❓ Do I need cash for the Sacred Valley tour?

Yes. Entrance fees such as the Cusco Tourist Ticket (Boleto Turístico) and the Maras Salt Mines ticket must be paid in cash and in Peruvian soles. ATMs are not always available along the route, so it’s best to carry the exact amount in local currency.

A small daypack is ideal for carrying your essentials, including water, snacks, sun protection, camera, and personal items. Avoid carrying large or heavy bags, as this is a full-day tour with several stops.

Yes. It’s always a good idea to carry your passport or a copy, since you may need it for identification when purchasing tickets or boarding a train if you continue to Machu Picchu from Ollantaytambo.

❓ Do I need to bring warm clothes?

Even though the Sacred Valley has a milder climate than Cusco, mornings and evenings can be chilly. Pack a light sweater or fleece jacket for comfort during cooler times of the day.
