TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 01: CITY TOUR CUSCO

Cusco City Tour – Afternoon Schedule

Experience the best of Cusco’s archaeological wonders with our Afternoon City Tour from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. We start at Cusco’s Main Square (Plaza de Armas) with a guided visit to the legendary Qoricancha Temple, known in Quechua as the Temple of the Sun. This sacred site was one of the most important temples of the Inca Empire, admired for its masterfully carved stone walls and deep historical significance.

Next, we travel in a comfortable tourist vehicle to the awe-inspiring Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park. This monumental Inca fortress is famous for its massive stone blocks, fitted together with extraordinary precision, and offers panoramic views of Cusco. Its impressive architecture draws comparisons to the world-famous Machu Picchu.

Our journey continues to Qenqo, an ancient ceremonial site believed to have been used for astronomical and religious purposes; Puka Pukara, a striking Inca military outpost; and finally Tambomachay, also called the Bath of the Inca, a ceremonial fountain dedicated to the worship of water.

We conclude the tour with a scenic return to Cusco, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the Inca capital.

DAY 02: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

Tour Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Start your journey with hotel pickup between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. Once the group is ready, we head north of Cusco to explore the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Our first stop is Chinchero, a charming Andean village known for its Inca agricultural terraces, the remains of Túpac Inca Yupanqui’s royal estate, and its colonial-era church. Here, you’ll also witness a traditional textile weaving demonstration, learning about ancient techniques still used today.

Next, we visit Moray, a fascinating archaeological site featuring circular agricultural terraces believed to have been used for Inca farming experiments. We continue to the famous Maras Salt Mines, a network of thousands of salt evaporation pools in use since the Inca Empire.

We then head to the impressive Ollantaytambo Fortress, an Inca stronghold built for defensive and ceremonial purposes. After exploring its massive stone structures, we enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba, the heart of the Sacred Valley.

In the afternoon, we visit Pisac, famous for its Inca archaeological complex and traditional Andean market. Finally, we return to Cusco, ending a day filled with history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes.

DAY 03: TOUR MACHU PICCHU FULL DAY

Your adventure begins early, with departure to the train station at around 4:00 a.m. We board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town), arriving at approximately 8:00 a.m. From here, you’ll take the bus up to the Machu Picchu citadel.

Upon arrival, enjoy a private guided tour of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, exploring the most iconic temples, terraces, and viewpoints of the Lost City of the Incas. Learn about its fascinating history, architecture, and spiritual significance while taking in breathtaking panoramic views.

Around 2:00 p.m., you’ll take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, with free time for lunch (optional) and to explore the charming town. Later, board the train for your return journey.

🎒 What to Pack for Your Machu Picchu Adventure

👟 Comfortable Footwear

Wear sturdy hiking shoes or trekking boots with strong grip and ankle support.
Machu Picchu and the surrounding trails include stone paths and uneven terrain, so reliable footwear is a must for safety and comfort.

🧥 Clothing Layers

The weather in the Andes can change quickly! Pack light, layered clothing so you can easily adjust throughout the day.
Include a waterproof jacket, warm hat, and gloves for chilly mornings or unexpected rain.

🌞 Sun Protection

The high-altitude sun in Machu Picchu can be intense, even on cloudy days.
Bring sunscreen, UV-protection sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat to protect your skin while exploring the ruins.

💧 Water Bottle

Stay hydrated during your Machu Picchu visit. Carry a reusable water bottle with at least 1.5 liters of water.
Single-use plastic bottles are not allowed inside the archaeological site, so reusable bottles are the best choice.

🍫 Snacks for Energy

Keep your energy up with high-energy snacks like nuts, granola bars, or dried fruit.
Perfect for breaks during your tour or on the way to the Machu Picchu entrance.

💵 Cash in Peruvian Soles

Some remote areas don’t accept credit cards, so it’s wise to carry cash (Soles) for small expenses such as entrance fees, souvenirs, or horse rentals if you’re hiking other Andean routes.
